The Pentax K10D is one of my favorite affordable old digital cameras. It has some neat features for it’s age, like image stabilization, and the CCD sensor puts out some amazing colors. The other day I decided to put the K10D to the test and photograph some egrets with it. I felt pretty confident with the DA* 300mm F4 lens onboard, but wasn’t sure how the K10D would hold up.

Check out some of my favorite shots below from the Pentax K10D and DA* 300mm F4 lens. I found the autofocus to be sufficient and even the high ISO to hold up quite well! I am pretty happy with what I got. And it just goes to show, you don’t need to fuss too much about getting the latest and greatest gear to get good shots. A camera from 2006 and lens from 2008 can hold up just fine.
