The American West Roadtrip!

Hi all!  It's been a while since I've posted!  I recently accomplished a 4100 mile roadtrip around the American west a few weeks ago.  Starting a thread to share some of my favorite shots I grabbed on this journey! I lugged along my Leica X1 & Olympus EM1X with the Laowa 7.5mm F2 & Olympus 100-400.

I started the journey in the Badlands, South Dakota

Nice job!!

I then explored the Black Hills and Custer State Park, it was such an underrated beautiful place I've never been.  Driving the Needles Highway, was a nauseous unforgettable winding experience seeing the tall granite spires everywhere.  No wonder the Lakota Sioux hold this place so dear!

Looks amazing, cute dog as well.

The farthest I went was Glacier National Park, but I live in Minnesota so it's quite the hike.  I have a lot more posts I still have to make.

Here's some of my shots from traveling around the Big Horn's and Cody Wyoming.  Along with the Billing/Kalispell area.

Some highlights from Yellowstone! Unfortunately my obsession to shoot a grizzly overtook my landscape priorities this part of the trip.  And I also had my lens hood come loose and mess up alot of photos on my Laowa 7.5mm! But I did get to check off some Grizz action! The sow and cubs were on the foot of the summit of Mount Washington, wished they had worked closer to the roadside, but cool never the less.

Time to wrap up my last photos! Sharing my shots from Glacier and Wind Cave National Park. The Leica X1, absolutely nailed that blue turquoise glacial water!

very nice set of images, nice details and close ups of the wildlife.   i'm about to hit up some of those places in september.  how was the smoke?  i see some in the glacier and badlands shots.  i haven't been to wind canyon yet, how would you say it compares to the custer park wildlife loop for getting animal photos?

The Wind Cave Bison herd is more original genetic bison and 100% non cattle blood line.  So they're bigger! Wind Cave is just as good as Custer, there's Big Horn, Pronghorn, and  Elk that frequently change borders between Custer and Wind Cave.  I'd take the whole day and do both if you can! Unfortunately I had my Beagle with me, so we weren't able to actually explore the cave with the summer heat.

Only 2 days, was there ever intense wildfire smoke during my trip.

thanks for the info.  i usually hit up badlands np and custer sp each year.  not too interested in going into the cave, but the wildlife always sounded good.
