Quote from SpruceBruce on June 25, 2022, 7:00 am@kcphotogeek Very cool! Is it an APS-C sized sensor or a smaller sensor in that module? I tend to forget what it was, I’ve passed up a few GXR deals with the IR module before. Kinda regretting it. That stop motion video, had to be so time consuming to create!
@james-warner-b The SMC-A 35-105 is my favorite piece of K mount glass now, funny enough I found it in a dusty cardboard box for $10 in a Fairbanks thrift store. I nabbed it as soon as checked out the results people got with it on PentaxForums/Flickr. I’ve recently accquired an MD mount Tokina 35-105 F3.5, it’s nearly identical in design. Gonna throw it on my Nikon Z7, and see how it performs along side to the Pentax.
@davidmaynard Welcome to the Forum! Nice colors out of that Fuji, I unfortunately destroyed my XT-20, but always loved the colors it output.
Took my Nikon Z7, and the Nikkor 135mm F3.5 with some macro extension tubes to my community garden. Shot in the Graphite JPEG preset.

@SpruceBruce the GXR modules beginning with P are 1/2.3 S is 1/1.7 then the A is APSC, so mine is the S10 similar IQ to the MX1. I also have the A12 28mm GR lens which I may convert to IR as I have the GR III already.
The stop motion took about 45mins all done in camera on the Lumix
love the look off the macro shots above particularly the last one

Quote from JBP on June 26, 2022, 5:06 pmFinally made it out on a small photography trip yesterday. Just a short hike at one of the nearest trails. First three are with the Helios 44k-4, last one is DA 35mm. I wish I had used the Helios for that shot as well. The bokeh is just so lovely. 🙂

I've almost picked up that lens so many times! I had a 35mm phase for a while and shot with several but never that one. How do you like it? Now I have the DA 35mm f2.4, so I'm not sure I will pick it up, but would be fun to compare the two. I've been impressed with the DA 35mm f2.4 especially with it being so cheap.
Here's some monochrome shots. I am playing with a mist filter I got from Freewell. It's the Glowmist 1/4. I don't see a lot of people using filters like this for landscape so I was playing with it. Was getting odd results on my 50-135mm when I zoomed all the way in to 135mm. Almost like motion blur, except then I would take the filter off and take the photo at the same settings it was fine. I was trying to think in my head how the effect of the mist filter would be exaggerated at telephoto range and couldn't figure it out. There's your puzzle for the day 🙂
Without glow mist (too blurry at telephoto for some reason)

Fortunately I had the DA35/2.4 for some years until I gave it to my father. The bokeh of the 35/2.4 when stopped down isn't my cup of tea...
Despite the FA 35/2.0 is bigger and heavier than the DA35, I like it very much on the K10D because it matches that camera very well. AF speed, sharpness, bokeh, overall image quality - everything more than sufficient for me.
