Neither actually. I think I could get a histogram to readout in the viewfinder, but I don't think my camera does zebras? It might have been something Fuji added in later cameras though. That's an interesting point you raise about a difference in latitude. I haven't personally noticed a difference in DR between the EVF and screen, but that could be the case.

and here is pic of a caspian tern (not a "seagull"). These guys are so cool. They fly around scanning water for fish. You can see when they are on the hunt because their red beaks give away their head moving side to side. Then all of a sudden they stop and hover then plow head first into the water. this one came up empty handed (beaked)
