Share your January Photos! (2023)

Use this thread to share photos you've taken in the month of January.

This is a quick snap I took in the rain this morning using my daughter's Konica Minolta Dimage Z20. It's an apple tree with a few apples left on it, those could make for good subjects on another day. Today I was just trying to get a quick waterdrop photo without getting the camera too wet!

Some from my first outing with my Pentax K-3iii which just arrived today, paired with the 18-135mm. It was raining but I just had to get out and test it out! 🙂

Some shots from the holidays!

Except for the Tuba pic, these were all from up in rural Indiana.

I'm coming to enjoy making these little diptychs, but I normally format so the horizontal edge is 300px, and at least on the computer, they display side by side. It's come to my awareness that different browsers might just put them all in line though. If that's the case, sorry for the amount I make you scroll haha.

The detail in that shot of the moss(?) on the branch is great, very sharp! I also enjoy the first shot of the water on the window

Thank you!

Here is a sampling of shots from my recent trip to the mall. First one really shows off the Foveon detail. Blows me away that it's "only" 15 megapixels.

Wow, you're right about the detail. Love those shots.

I agree with Cory. These tell a wonderful story. 🙂

Some more shots with my K-3iii. I've been a bit enamored with it, especially when paired with the 55-300 PLM. But I want to get the K-5iis or K10D + Helios back out again soon. Old sensors and lenses have so much character. Maybe this weekend. 🙂

A water drop and low shutter speed caused the blur here.

Jumped into the A99 SLT a decade late, but it's satisfying to use my A mount glass in FF!

M43 photo dump incoming! I recently picked up the Laowa 7.5mm F2 & TTArtisan 50mm F1.2.
This first shot is at Vermillion Falls in Hastings, MN

And then I went up North to Duluth, caught some ships making their last frigid freight runs of the year on Lake Superior until March.  Nabbed some portraits of my gals, on the TTArtisan 50mm F1.2! It's gonna be a favorite moving forward!

Hey y'all! Super excited for the photos coming later this month, but for now here's some winter love from a nice nature walk I took in the morning hours last weekend.

Bruce, I really love the color work on those shots of the Tregurtha, as well as that shot of the lighthouse. These look immaculate!
