Light coming through the kitchen window just right on these flowers 🙂 Quick snap with the Ricoh GXR M module + Pentax-110 18mm f2.8

Happy snappin' 🙂

Lovely photo, Snappy. The white flowers against the solid black background is really pleasing.

Here's another snap with the Canon G7X. It was snowing and as far as I know the thing isn't weather sealed. I don't like the anxiety that comes with that. 😆

Edit: The JPEGs are really, really nice with this camera (IMO). I fiddled with the RAW in Lightroom a bit and when the camera nails the exposure, I just like the JPEGs better.

Just some yarn. Taken with a Raynox M-150 and DA 50mm on my K-3. I'm not very experienced with the Raynox and figure some experimentation around the house will help me learn how to use it better. I realized after taking this it's not really magnified much...I then put the Raynox on my 55-300 and boy is it ever macro at 300mm! But it became unwieldy, the DOF was *extremely* shallow. More practice required.

Does anyone else have a Raynox clip-on? It looks silly but it's pretty fun. I like that it is small and can be put on most of my lenses. I would like a real-deal macro lens someday but this thing seems pretty trick for what it is.

I had never even heard of Raynox clip on macro lenses, but that looks really good! Impressed with the quality. Maybe you can do a controlled practice of focus stacking. I admit I have yet to actually sit down and try it. I shoot so little on a tripod since having kids - I need to get back into the practice of doing it when I can and playing with the effect of having either close and far subjects in focus, or like in this case more in-focus area in a macro. Looks like you stopped that shot down to F8, so you could try even narrower, but at that point need a tripod anyway for light!

While my girlfriend acquired new neglect victims... *clears throat* I mean houseplants. I drugged my nearly 20 year old, new to me 6MP Minolta 7D & a 50mm F1.7 along for the ride.  The color science on the Minolta in camera jPEG processsing is chef's kiss.  I added +2 Sat +1 Sharp and +1 Contrast, then slightly underexposed a 1/3 of a stop, and bumped the shadows up a bit in LR.  The biggest challenge for me, is getting non burnt out highlights with this system so far.

Got some pics of the sun dog we had on Friday. Something that I don't know a ton of people have seen but we Iowans are certainly acquainted with.

Yeah, I'm pretty impressed with what you get for the cost, size, and convenience of this thing. Just slap it on a lens and go. I have been wanting to try focus stacking. I may give it a shot tonight.

I really, really like those colors. Always amazed by the 6MP cameras.

Wow... I've seen faint halos before but nothing like that. Really stunning! And you took them with the Sigma 17-50, a lens I just acquired. Very cool. I had issues getting my AF fine adjustment down but now that it's locked in I'm in love with that lens.

@jbp congrats on the lens acquisition! It's a pretty solid lens, I do wish that particular version of the Sigma 17-50mm was a full-frame lens so I could share it between my K-3 II and K-1. But at the same time it's probably a good thing because it gives my K-3 II a very excellent lens that the K-1 can't hog. It's also one of the few lenses that I have that pushes my K-3 II all the way to it's full IQ (or at least near) potential. I can see individual pixels on shots taken with that lens if I zoom in on a RAW enough. You really don't see that often when you put a lens on such a sharp, accurate APS-C.
