Seen in a second: Sigma 500mm f4.5 APO DG EX Pentax
Hello guys,
I was wondering, and wondering took the chance away from me.
I just saw a Sigma 500mm f4.5 APO EX DG Pentax Mount lens second hand in a very well known portal at a very good price (expensive but not for what this is) and I wondered too much so now it's gone.
I am thinking I have seen a unicorn as this lens might be selling for any other brands but for Pentax? I did not even know they made it in K mount. It made me happy seing it existing.
Yes I was too slow to get it and, right now after having bought the flat is not the right time to throw that money away, but it's fine.
Just wanted to share this here. In a European website. Maybe it was one of you who bought it, who knows.
This has happened to me many a time. Usually I too am relieved that someone else bought it. There was a Ricoh GR, a Pentax K-1, numerous lenses... I end up browsing for things I want before I can afford them. Bad idea!
I didn't know that Sigma 500mm existed. It seems Pentax is lacking in long telephoto options a bit, so it is nice to see that. Based on the reviews here (https://www.pentaxforums.com/userreviews/sigma-500mm-f4-5-ex-dg-apo.html) it seems like a really good lens indeed.
There's also the Sigma 50-500mm, which I think people call "Bigma." It is also hard to find. I think the only k-mount telephoto lenses above 300mm still in production are made by Pentax (someone correct me if I'm wrong, please!).
Holy smokes I didn't know that lens existed either. The reviews and sample images on PentaxForum are beyond positive.
There is a NEW copy of that lens on eBay right now.... if you can stomach $5000 US dollars! At that price it has 12 watchers. Crazy.
I think most of us here understand the camera gear sickness all to well. I offer you a shoulder to cry on 😉

Yes, the Bigma I knew about it. But I'm not up to it.

Yep, shame is.... it just flew away from me, but it was a find.
I don't think any 200-500mm lens exists for Pentax neither it ever did in the past with AF to be honest.
