Olympus tg-830/compact cameras in general

First of all I can't even start to describe how much I love this little thing, got this camera as a present when I was starting out with photography back in 2016 and have been my main shooter up until last year (got my first mirrorless camera which I'll probably write about too).

although the spec sheet might not be that impressive but this cute little rugged beauty is not to be underestimated.

1-the sheer convenience of having a small camera with optical zoom in your back pack all the time meaning tou won't miss that nice shot or lovely light giving me some of my favorite shots so far eg:

2- the limitations, no really ..having limitations probably shaped my style at the time so bad dynamic range? more like silhouette machine 😀

4-Water proof :all the past points were common with most compact cameras but this one us alittle more specific, but it's worth mentioning the images originally turned out kinda green and washed out but some editing took care of that:

sorry for all the samples but I tried to make them as little as possible I promise :'D

What a versatile little camera! I had no idea you had that much zoom range in a waterproof compact camera. Those macros really looked nice. I also liked your silhouettes.

I totally agree about how limitations can make you a better photographer. I feel the same way about the gear I first had. I think it helps even now that I have better gear to go back to some of this older sometimes more limited cameras and stretch my creative muscles a little bit.

My first digital camera was a Canon A40. 2mp. 3x zoom. No manual controls. But it got me interested in photography. Ued point and shoots for the next decade before getting my first older used DSLR.

Thanks for sharing.

Happy snappin' 🙂

thank you so much

also I completely understand you, while I appreciate the gear I have now for the extra control and better image quality I always find myself using the little one when I'm feeling burnt out or uninspired and it always gives me a different perspective which really helps me get back to shooting
