My (Motorsport) website

I hope you would like it.

It is a Motorsport based website and I have created it and use Squarespace. Due to a friend of mine have had his own in this platform years ago.

It has links, it even has a small shop with weird and freak gifts, and it has a link to an online print store just in case anyone would like to have an image that I've done printed.

Welcome back! I hadn't seen your site before. Nice portfolio! Full of variety and nice images. I still don't have a portfolio of work anywhere but I've been thinking about making one this year. It would be nice to see my best work all together in one place, if only for my own sake.

Thank you! It took me a while, eh? xD

Well you know, get in touch with Squarespace in order for them to sponsor your videos and the least you'll get probably will be a discount.

Yes the portfolio site is nice in order to just show quick some of your best images. It is useful.

Hi again,

I was working on the print on demand part of the "shop" part of the website so here it is in case you'd like to give it a look.

As you might know my website has been built in Squarespace so they have an api that conects it to Printful and my shop is based on Printful's service.

Most likely what I did has been adding a bunch of framed prints, as my "prints" section driving you to darkroom isn't that intuitive and I thought this could work better.

Your website is GREAT! Super slick and professional, and the images are stellar. Was it easy to make with Squarespace? It looks like it was a monumental effort but I know their goal is to make it easy for anyone to make a website. My only website building experiences are Godaddy (which is incredibly bad, in my opinion) and when I was a kid I tinkered around with a website program (I think it was called Frontpage?) which involved generating/writing some html code. That was fun and I liked the control I had over the process but if I were to do it again now I would prefer simple and fast.

Yes Squarespace makes it easier. They have templates (the one I use is one of the "old generation" ones but I liked it because it is simple), and based on them you can customize your website.

It is a lot of work. And many times it is frustrating because you want to connect with other websites via API's (even though you don't know they connect this way) and it can be tricky.

For instance as an example, my "shop" part of the website has a bunch of products on it and this goes via a third party that is whom creates the products, processes the orders and payments, and ships the final product to the buyer. But there are two providers whom you can work with. I am based in Barcelona which is in Europe, so we use as currency the Euro. That one provider I wanted to check and try I was setting everything on their platform and then when I was synchronizing everything it was bringing an error. That error, after sending an email to their help team, was that they only work with USD dolars. So my website accepting Euros wasn't matching and this was creating an error.

Also about Squarespace it is true they have a team to help you out, and it works great. Even though it means you'll still need to do the work by yourself. But you always get help from the customer help center.

It takes time understanding the platform, it takes time understanding how to do things, how to create the galleries, how would images look better, how to change this and that and probably my website would look a million times better if I just knew how to do this or that. Yet once you have the "core" of the idea/website you have going, it gets simplier. And then you just start adding things, thinking on what to do next, how, etc....

So, as an overall experience: Yes it works great. It is not the cheapest platform, it might not be the best platform, and you need to choose a good template (you can swap them but to be honest I am too lazy to do this right now) that allows you to perform cool things so you can make your website super visual and easy. Would I reccomend Squarespace? Yes I would. Yet I would say, try first the free mode if there is still any (i think there was, but i'm not sure if this exists anymore) and see it by yourself. And then choose what to do next. Because probably there are great platforms as good as Squarespace out there. In my case I just haven't used them.
