How to share images on this forum - Link, BBCode and now Direct Upload!

Hello all,

To share an image on this forum you now have three options.

The first is to use the "Insert/edit image" button while making a post. This requires a direct link to the image to be pasted. For example, from Flickr the URL would look like this:

https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/50349363752_671c01c9c6_c.jpg

The second option is a new feature I added to allow support for BBCodes. This is something you may be more familiar with. If the image hosting site you are using generates a BBCode share link for you, you can now simply paste it into your post and it will appear after you submit.

Example of a BBCode (with typo so it doesn't actually display image):

[img]https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/50349363752_671c01c9c6_c.jpg[/img

The third brand new option is to upload the image directly to the post using the "Choose File" button underneath "Upload Files" when creating a new post. See attached photo below for an example. Right now there is a limit to 5 new files per post, and a maximum size of 5mb per file.

Let me know if you have any questions or suggestions!

Thanks

Happy snappin' 🙂

Found a way to add the ability to upload photos directly to your post with some limitations. Files must be under 5mb, they must be jpeg, jpg, gif, or png (let me know if I am missing a popular format here). And they appear at the bottom of the post, you cannot arrange where they show up. If you want to organize your post that way you'll want to use something like BBCode links.

Try it out!
