FREE WEBSITES! Adobe Portfolio
Quote from Kieran Coughlan on August 27, 2023, 5:14 amA lot of people use Lightroom for their photo cataloging and editing however most of those people don't take advantage of the Adobe Portfolio which often comes as part of the subscription. Yes it's not Squarespace or Wordpress but for just having somewhere to easily update your portfolio or just log your journey it's worthwhile.
I've used 2 of the 5 web domains, one for portfolio the other showcasing my favourite Pentax pics broken down by body. See below

For my kcphotogeek I just have 2 categories Street and Urban, max of 20 photos each. I found this useful for developing curation as a skill and taking note of what works, what can be improved and in my case what gear works well.
Compactness is obviously important to me as over 70% of my portfolio shots are taken with MFT or compact cameras. Sensor size is not important as the majority of these shots are taken with a 4/3 size sensor or smaller. Resolution doesn't matter either, the GX80 has produced the most shots here yet it only has 16MP, the majority of these shots (57%) are taken on cameras 20MP or less in resolution.
Good results can be had with kit lenses as 40% of these pictures were taken with these lens types, though most were taken with the Leica 12-60mm F2.8-4.0 even excluding this premium kit lens a good 15% were taken with budget kit lenses.
Anyone else keep a portfolio, what have you learned from the experience?

Quote from nokk on August 28, 2023, 12:48 ami used adobe portfolio for awhile. it's a great product, esp. considering the price. at the time it didn't do sub galleries or ecommerce, so after a year i went with 22slides for $10/mo (for all available features) and i've been with that since. i still haven't set up the ecommerce part. i sell pohtos at a local shop and so far the contact page has worked best for print orders.

What a beautiful portfolio! You have such a breadth of work and a high level of skill in each different area. That was really fun to look through.
@kcphotogeek I had no idea about Adobe Portfolio, thanks for the tip! I do still pay for Adobe's photo subscription. I had stopped for a while because free editors are so powerful, and my one time payment editors, but there's just some things I prefer doing on Lightroom and Photoshop is so powerful sometimes. Cool to know there's another perk!

Never knew this came with my subscription, thank you so much as I was after a webpage for my work, and this looks like it will do the job with zero extra cost.
