Displate Page

Hi everyone,
Long time ago I was sitting in my chair thinking, as probably all of us did before, that i have many many images I have not seen in a while and I am not having any revenue on them so after watching some random youtube video the person on it was explaining something about a platform named Displate.

So I went on the website and you can upload images and then from the general sale using your images you get a small amount of profit for each sale. The special thing about it is that they sell pictures in aluminium frames that you can mount in your walls using magnets only,

It's been a while and I do a revenue around 50 to 65$ every 3-4 months which is ridiculous as they sell up to 150$ per photo and you get 8 to 10$ profit in this case. BUT they have the platform and the visitors, so I am still having my around 400 pictures uploaded there.

And i was curious to know if anyone of you have ever used this platform and which feedback do you have from it.

Btw my "store" there is this one in case you'd like to keep an eye on it: https://displate.com/f1photo?art=5ea55c5125aa2

The funniest thing is my number one selling picture is one not showing any motion and I still don't get why it is the best seller (i mean it's an alright picture but....). And by best seller I mean almost the only one selling!

All the best,

Oh and an important note I forgot to mention is: You can't request payments if you don't get up to at least 50 usd. And it takes around 45 days to get payed. Yes, it's a big delay.

This is fascinating. I know of a handful of print on demand services, but not one that specializes in metal prints. Browsing through the site it seems like the most sold prints are graphic design type items, usually based on some hot topic. I feel like photography wouldn't sell well unless it was a universally recognizable object, which may be why you've had some success with Formula one/racing.

Setting something like this up would be something I'd be interested in, but I don't think my current photography would sell here or even in stock photo settings.

Curious if anyone else has had success with a service like this?

Happy snappin' 🙂

Yes that's true James,
I firstly thought that I don't know any service/website where I could sell my work and make a passive income (its a low one, but you know, I shoot a targeted audience imaginery), and found this page.

The truth is that it is more based on graphic designs about hot topics, but I have realised about this later on so I kept going. It's cost effective in the way that you don't pay any feees, and if it produces any income, well this is money I did not had before xDD

Maybe someone can tell us about any other services that are similar but can work better for photographers.

Oh and thanks for giving it a look 🙂
